Once the Old Cox Dance Hall, our Bandera General Store is over 100 years old and still has the original floors and ceiling. When you come to our store, we want to offer you a unique experience.
While you are able to get a wide array of Texas themed gifts and souvenirs among other things, you will leave with so much more. You’ll leave with memories, stories, and a piece of Texas history to be treasured for a life time.
This is not your ordinary General Store. Well, we even have our very own ghost named Henry!
Many years ago our building also housed the first movie theater in Bandera, The Bantex. Additionally it has also housed a saddle shop and western wear store.
If you come to our store for gifts, you can stay and enjoy some Honky Tonk and live like a true cowboy. The Silver Dollar Saloon and Dance Hall is located beneath our general store. It was purchased in 1968 by a singer/songwriter by the name of Arkey Blue who still keeps the tradition of western music alive at The Silver Dollar.
When you visit the Bandera General Store, you get the best of both worlds! We have a wide selection of wonderful gifts for everyone to enjoy. You can enjoy buying the following gifts for yourself, family and loved ones:
